Faidra Chafta Douka
Faidra Chafta-Douka wurde 1990 in Athen geboren. Sie hat Komposition an der Aristotle University of Thessaloniki unter Michalis Lapidakis und Dimitris Papageorgiou, an der Hochschule für Musik Dresden unter Mark Andre, Manos Tsangaris und Franz Martin Olbrisch, sowie an der Universität der Künste Berlin unter Daniel Ott studiert. In den letzten Jahren hat sie an vielen verschiedenen Seminaren und Masterklassen teilgenommen. Ihre Stücke wurden im Rahmen von Workshops, Festivals und anderen Konzerten und von unterschiedlichen Performern, wie vom ensemble proton bern, Ascolta Dissonart Ensemble, AuditivVokal Dresden, Dresdner Philharmonie, Manufaktur für aktuelle Musik und trio sostenuto aufgeführt. Seit 2019 promoviert sie an der Kunstuniversität Graz in Kooperation mit der Zürcher Hochschule der Künste. Ihr Fokus liegt auf den körperlichen Aspekt des Instrument Spielens, die Role der Notation bei der Darstellung und Vermittlung künstlerischer Ideen, und die Poesie, die aus dem eingefangenen fiktiven Rahmen einer Live-Performance stammt.
Faidra Chafta-Douka was born in Athens in 1990. She studied composition at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki under Michalis Lapidakis and Dimitris Papageorgiou, at the Dresden University of Music under Mark Andre, Manos Tsangaris and Franz Martin Olbrisch, and at the Berlin University of the Arts under Daniel Ott. In recent years she has participated in many different seminars and master classes. Her pieces have been performed in workshops, festivals and other concerts and by different performers, such as by ensemble proton bern, Ascolta Dissonart Ensemble, AuditivVokal Dresden, Dresdner Philharmonie, Manufaktur für aktuelle Musik and trio sostenuto. Since 2019 she is doing her PhD at the Kunstuniversität Graz in cooperation with the Zurich University of the Arts. Her focus is on the physical aspect of playing the instrument, the role of notation in the representation and communication of artistic ideas, and the poetry that comes from the captured fictional frame of a live performance.
