Kaoko Amano (Tokyo) first studied singing and music education at Tokyo Gakugei University. She then completed postgraduate studies at the Vienna Conservatory. She won 2nd prize and a special prize at the 8th Emmy Destinn Competition and also reached the finals of various competitions.
She devotes herself to contemporary music, participating in numerous world premieres of works by international composers, collaborationg with the IGNM, the ÖGZM, Ensemble Phace, Ensemble xx. jahrhundert, Ensemble Reconsil, Schallfeld Ensemble, etc. In the “World New Music Days 2013”, Amano performed two operas “Wärme” (T.Friebel) and “Bill” (J.Sanchez-Chiong). In 2018 at “Opern der Zukunft” she sang the main roles in “Konjiki Yasha” (T.Yokokawa) and “Mirada Antigua” (J.Quislant) in Graz Opera with great success, and in 2019 the “Dies Irae – der Tag des Zorns” (Kay Voges, P.
